Ofcom reported that the percentage of UK homes without internet access dropped from 11% during the first lockdown to 6% during the second, as around 1.5m homes moved online during the pandemic. Amongst those still unconnected were many over-65s, lower-income households and households considered ‘financially vulnerable’.

BT announced a monthly broadband package at less than half full price for families on Universal Credit.
