Counselling can be an effective, low cost treatment option for many mental health problems, but only two thirds of GP practices have an in-house counsellor.

People in distress are waiting up to 7 months in some areas for an appointment. Funding provided by the Health and Social Care Board is totally inadequate. #123GP is calling for urgent investment in counselling in primary care to ensure everybody who needs it can access it.
