In the Autumn of 2021, Build Homes Now subverted the closed door consultation processes that define city planning in Belfast by teaming up with artist Anne Tallentire and the MAC to engage members of the public in the conversation about Mackies and how to build a sustainable, inclusive city for the future.

Unlike the actual Mackies consultation led by Belfast City Council, everyone was invited. Hundreds of people came through the doors to share ideas and support, including brilliant young engineers of the future from schools and youth groups across the city who helped build the cardboard utopia.
