Digital Rights  |  Mon Oct 04 2021

Marketing firm research using ONS and Ofcom data ranked Fermanagh and Omagh as the least digitally connected areas in all of the UK, based on how many people had been online in the past three months and the number of premises with access to superfast broadband: it said one in eight people in Fermanagh and Omagh had not used the internet in the preceding 90 days and 31% had no access to superfast broadband. Five of the ten worst areas in terms of digital connectivity were in Northern Ireland: Fermanagh and Omagh (worst); Mid Ulster (third worst); Causeway Coast and Glens (5th worst); Newry, Mourne and Down (7th worst); and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon (9th worst).
