Desperate Monologues on BBC Radio Ulster’s Lynette Fay Show

In Desperate Monologues, through a combination of spoken word, humour, music and dance, activists share their personal stories of difficult times

Tue Jan 30 2024  |  Mental Health Rights

New Script activist Magz Gibney and Organiser Lisa Morrison, along with playwright Damian Gorman, joined Lynette Fay on her afternoon show,  to talk about their new performance, Desperate Monologues and their rapidly growing campaign for a New Script for Mental Health.

In Desperate Monologues, through a combination of spoken word, humour, music and dance, activists share their personal stories of difficult times, when it was hard to see any light, how they kept going to come out the other end.

The opening show on 1st February, which was for family, friends and invited guests, was performed in the Rainbow Factory, as a partnership with Youth Action.

Activists plan to perform this powerful show again later this Spring/Summer.
